History

Yellow Bus Events Ltd (previously named The Sheffield Events Company Ltd) was founded by Scott Barton & Jill Phillips in 2000 to bring under one umbrella a number of events that they had been successfully organising since 1996. All of our events have been established from scratch and last year over 200,000 people attended or participated in our events & festivals.

Between 1999 and 2007 we staged the Mayfest festival which atrracted up to 40,000 visitors each year and hosted performances from Beverley Knight, Mark Owen, McFly, Busted, Blazin Squad, Chesney Hawkes & Right Said Fred. Between 2005 & 2011, in partneship with Don't Shoot Productions, we staged Grin Up North - The Sheffield Comedy Festival which sold over 300,000 tickets in seven years. To see details of the 2011 festival visit www.sheffieldcomedyfestival.com.
