Fright Night – FAQs
1. Where does Fright Night take place?
Fright Night takes place across Sheffield City Centre including; Fargate, Barkers Pool, the Peace Gardens, Surrey Street, Pinstone Street, Leopold Street, Leopold Square, Orchard Square, Millennium Square, the Winter Gardens and Tudor Square. All of this area is closed to traffic just for the event.
2. Where does Fright Night’s Little Brother take place?
On the Moor pedestrianised shopping area.
3. When is Fright Night and Fright Night’s Little Brother?
Sunday 28th October 2012
4. What time is Fright Night and Fright Night’s Little Brother?
Fright Night’s Little Brother is 12pm - 3pm.
Fright Night is 3.30pm - 8.30pm
5. How much does Fright Night Cost?
Both Fright Night and its Little Brother are FREE events. Usual charges apply for Fairground Rides and tickets are required for the Sing-a-long Rocky Horror Show at the Lyceum. For more details of that please see their website www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk or call their booking line on 0114 249 6000.
6. How can I get to Fright Night?
By Tram – All trams (Blue, Yellow and Purple lines) towards Sheffield City Centre. Get off at any of the following stops; City Hall, Cathedral or Castle Square.
By Bus – Buses are running their usual Sunday services into the city. 7. Where can I park?
On street parking is free in the city centre. Sheffield City Council Car Parks are also available but charges may apply.
8. Is there an age limit for Fright Night?
No, Fright Night is open to all ages but we do recommend that all children are accompanied by an adult.
9. Where can I find more information about entertainment on the day?
A map of all of the entertainment can be downloaded from our website. It will also be published in The Star Newspaper during the week leading up to the event. Maps will also be available on the night and displayed at the event.
10. Are the City Centre shops and restaurants open as normal?
Yes. The city centre is open for trading as normal.
11. Do I have to book to attend any shows?
It is advisable to book on to the FREE Story Telling sessions held at the Sheffield Central Children’s and Young People’s Library and at Waterstones bookshop in Orchard Square. Book on to the library’s sessions that will be held at 4.15-5pm and at 5.15-6pm by calling into the library before hand or for more details call 0114 273 4734. Feel free to drop into Waterstones at 3.15pm and 3.45 on the day.
You should also book for the Sing-a-long Rocky Horror show to ensure a seat. For more details please see their website www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk or call their booking line 0114 249 6000.
12. What other facilities are available?
Toilets – Paid toilets are available at the Town Hall on Pinstone Street. Public toilets are situated in Orchard Square, the Millennium Galleries and the Crucible Theatre. Portable toilets are at the bottom of Fargate.
First Aid – There are several First Aid points located around the event. If you require help please contact a steward.
Lost Children – The Lost Children point will be situated in the Winter Gardens.
Lost Property – The Lost property point will be situated in the Winter Gardens.
