Bespoke events for hundreds or thousands of people. We can do anything to fit your brief!

From fan zones and celebrations to firework displays, family events, festivals and live music performances, we can organise your outdoor events for anything from 200 to over 50,000 people. We’ll bring bags of enthusiasm and energy to each project and work out ways to stretch your budget for maximum impact.

When you ask Yellow Bus Events to organise an event for you, you’ll get the full benefit of our years of experience. We know the intricacies involved in organising large-scale events, especially those for the general public, and take the responsibility, stress and workload off your shoulders. Not only will we come up with inventive ideas to ensure your event really stands apart, we’ll take care of insurance, safety, licensing, crowd management and traffic plus all the other essentials that go towards a successful event to remember.

We’re asked to organise a wide variety of events each year, with past examples including:

  • The largest official visitor hub/fan zone for the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire with facilities for up to 20,000 visitors. Right by the finish line we brought in the world’s largest portable screen, musical entertainment, art installations, food & bars as well as portable toilets, first aid, visitor information, cycle parking and media facilities.
  • A three day festival for 12,000 people to celebrate The University of Sheffield’s centenary. As part of this park-based event we had a circus, stage and exhibitions under marquees.
  • Nottingham’s official Golden Jubilee Event for over 6,000 people at the National Water sports Centre. Attractions on the night included a 1950’s themed music stage, brass bandstand, craft markets, big screens, street entertainment, a massive fireworks display set to music and the only floating beacon in the UK which attracted international TV coverage.

Christmas is a magical time of year and the perfect opportunity to do something really special. Whether you want an event to switch on your Christmas lights for tens of thousands, small-scale, attention grabbing activities or a sales boosting promotion, we can help. For over fifteen years we’ve organised huge city centre parties that culminate in the switching on of Christmas illuminations. We can bring Father Christmas to make an appearance along with his real reindeer. Snow machines give a crisp wintery feel, the children love our giant walkabout snowman whilst traditional music, food stalls and funfair rides create a great festive atmosphere.

From zombies, dragons and Frankenstein’s monster to dances, acrobatic aerial displays and sci-fi heroes we can help you celebrate this spooky day in style! For many years we created and ran Fright Night, Britain’s Biggest Halloween Carnival in Sheffield City Centre. This event attracted visitors from across the country with up to 40,000 people in attendance. Events can be tailored to your target audience as entertainment can range from friendly and cute to gory and terrifying!

We organised our first fireworks event in 1996 and have extensive experience in all aspects of creative content, risk management and statutory responsibilities. We have worked on both green field and city centre sites and can work within any budget ranging from £10,000 to £500,000. In addition to our own annual Firework Spectacular, After Dark we have also organised numerous commissioned displays such as a rooftop firework display celebrating the opening of international law firm DLA Piper’s new offices with Senator Mitchell pressing the plunger.

“Scott and his team strike exactly the right balance between delivering a highly professional service and being fun to work with. The main thing is, they really know what they’re doing and can be trusted to deliver what they promise – in fact my experience is they go far beyond what is expected. I cannot recommend Yellow Bus Events highly enough: creative, honest, hard-working, fun. Our clients love them and so do we.”
